I love this bass clarinet stand! I had the occasion to use it under battle conditions recently in a concert where I was performing the Wagner Prelude and Lovedeath and Der Rosenkavalier Suite, where I switched off between basset horn and bass clarinet. Both instruments fit perfectly on the stand, and then entire stand fits INSIDE my bass clarinet case. Plus it is so amazingly light. I love this!

|:|:|:|:| Gijs van Leeuwen produces with the passion of the engineer and the knowledge of the performing musician stands for woodwind instruments - flute, oboe, saxophone, bassoon. Bassoon Stand #12
My custom bassoon stand #12 is both a wonderful work of craftsmanship as well as a very functional and sturdy bassoon stand. I'm very pleased and have shown it to a few of my colleagues here in New York City. I'm quite sure that there will be a few more coming to the US because of the simplicity of design and the lovely functionality. I asked Gijs to make the central stock of the stand out of a beautiful wood (in honor of my father) and he chose a very lovely and figured birds eye maple (Kirilian Birch) as the strong core of the stand. The beauty of it is the contrast between the black carbon fibre and the lovely organic wood. Really stunning. Congratulations to its maker and a hearty "Braveaux" to your continued success!

Bb clarinet stand
I am fully satisfied with my bb Olive Stand. Very cute and not heavy thanks to carbon feets. I have had problem with the french postal services, but Gils was very friendly in solving it. If I buy a bass clarinet, I will for sure buy the bass clarinet stand

Al een aantal jaren gebruik ik rieten die mijn leraar Gijs voor mij maakt. De rieten zijn altijd goed. Gaan lang mee en zijn minder snel beschadigd. De voor mij hoge prijs is het uiteindelijk toch echt waard.

The custom reeds
I have already 3 reeds from Gijs and they play fantastic. They where made to fit my sound and response choice and 2 of them where developed specially for my Tenor clarinet/mouthpiece which is unique. The challenge was bigger since we where looking for a reed which fits a new type of mouthpiece, yet the result is fantastic! The reeds are maintaining their qualities throughout the playing time and their life time is impressively long. I highly recommend that you try this reeds to understand the difference.

This is an innovation! The stand is easy to assemble, good looking and light. The best part is that if the bassoon is with me the stand is with me too. For years I have dragged heavy stands and bags to rehearsal. The last half year or so I have skipped the heavy bassoon stand and leaned my costly bassoon on a chair. I am happy to be able to carry my bassoon stand inside my gig bag with the bassoon. I have two bassoon stands made of metal. They are no doubt very stable but I am happy to say that my new stand, yet very light, is just as stable as my old ones. This is what I call good work Gijs. Thank you.

Bass clarinet stand
This bass clarinet stand is real innovation!!!! It's always a challenge to find a stand when you're on tour and the conventional stands are heavy and much too bulky for transport. In the past during the concerts I often had to place the sensitive instruments on a chair, a table or on the floor. The new Woodwind Design bass clarinet stand is unbelievable light, the workmanship is exemplary, the fibre carbon is the perfect material. It stands really safe, nothing is wiggling. The 7 to 8 (depending on the required height) individual parts really fit in the clarinet's bore and the bell. I use it for both, the bass clarinet and the basset horn as well. So, it's a real useful tool. Dear Gijs, thank you so much for making my life as a musician a little easier!
