NEW! Wooden flute stands are also available FOR ALTO AND BASS FLUTE!

Stable and flexible
WoodWindDesign’s wooden stands for flute, clarinet and oboe basically consist of a wooden tube with  four holes at the base. These holes contain small magnets, as do the  four legs of the stands. When in use, the magnets hold the legs firmly in the base of the stand. This connection is stable as well as flexible in order to deal with uneven floors. The legs can be pulled out of the base and can be stored inside the tube that is the core of the stand. The stand can be stored inside the instrument or in the instrument’s case, depending on model, instrument and lay-out of the case.

Handmade
The wooden stands are handmade of the most stunning and precious timbers, polished and oiled with Tung Oil, the best wood oil available. This gem will bring a smile on your face everytime you set it up. This beautiful and stable instrument stand weighs 40-50 grams only.

  1. Don Maier

I ordered this extremely pricey and what should have been a very attractive wood instrument stand from this vendor.
I placed the order on December 29, 2019. It did not arrive until May 27, 2020. When it finally did arrive, it was damaged, with a gouge in the wood.

I contacted Gijs multiple times about receiving a damaged article. I supplied photographs that shows the gouge in the finished wood (see photo). I reported to him that I could easily feel the gouge by running my finger across it. And I reported how obvious the damage is to me and to everyone else who has seen the stand. Despite all this evidence, the Gijs intransigently insisted that nothing is wrong with it!

Gijs has showed himself wholly unwilling or incapable of admitting that he might have sent me a damaged article. Instead, despite all the evidence of damage, he prefers to insist that I dishonestly invented the problem. Or perhaps he believes that anyone who sees a defect in a product of his must be delusional.

That is an extraordinary and extraordinarily offensive way to treat customers.

    Beware.

I ordered this pricey and what should have been a very attractive wood instrument stand in December 2019. It did not arrive on my doorstep until May 27, 2020 — five months later. Gijs has made all sorts of lame excuses for this, but supplies no information that would lead you to expect his casual attitude towards fulfilling orders.

When the stand finally did arrive, it was damaged. The gouge in it could not possibly have happened in its long journey: Gijs sent it out that way.

I contacted Gijs multiple times about receiving a damaged article. I supplied photographs that shows the gouge in the finished wood (see the photo on WoodWindDesign’s FaceBook page. I reported to him that I could easily feel the gouge by running my finger across it. And I reported how obvious the damage is to me and to everyone else who has seen the stand. Gijs insists that nothing is wrong: The image, he says, shows nothing. He insists that he has no responsibility to address the damaged goods he sent me. And he insists that I must be lying and making this all up — despite the obvious evidence of damage. He has not shown the slightest bit of concern.

Have you noticed that Gijs’ website has no bad reviews? That’s because he blocks or takes down every unfavorable one, including the first one that I posted. If you want honest business dealings, look elsewhere.

    Beware.

I responded to Don Maier several times.

1 Long delivery time: is stated on the webshop pages, as well as on the email with the invoice: 1-4 months varying, depending on the product. Especially the wooden products (and some rare products, such as carbon stands for saxello, contrabass flute, contrabass trombone) are handmade to order only. The long waiting period is the result of the popularity of my super light and compact carbon instrument stands, and the fact that I have a one person business. More clients request updates on shipment, but are happy to wait and looking forward to use our products after I answered. After shipment of this particilar stand, well within the 4 months period, it took USPS as well as US customs during the Covid-19 troubles two and a half month to deliver it. Normal PostNL /USPS shipment would be 10-14 days. The delay came as a complete surprise to me and my US customers. I do not use this shipment method at the moment, at least as long as Covid-19 in influencing a lot of processes world wide.

2 The picture presented shows “something” but I cannot see exactly what. Never ever did I suggest the client was lying, never did I suggest nothing was wrong, never did I reply unpolite, despite his “direct communication style”. Client shows it to everybody, except to me. He demands replacement or refund without giving me the possibility to inspect the product, before making refund or replacement. I don’t expect a lot of traders would be happy to do otherwise.

    3. I have no issue whatsoever dealing with feedback on my products, that’s how I get new ideas for products, or insentives to improve existing products. In fact, I invite my clients to write me about possible improvements that could be made. Never did I state that I will not replace or refund, the only thing I ask, is having the product in my hands and assessing what could very well be a grave mistake from me. I do have returning goods from clients that are not happy with their purchase. They send the product back to me and I refund, simple as that. WoodWindDesign has had one return in 2018, zero in 2019 and 2 until now in 2020.

    4. I do have a lot of positive reviews , I have not been able to work on the backend of my website the past days, but I will clear the way for his review to be published, as this one negative review probably adds to the credibility of the others. I have never blocked any review.

    5. The offer of inspecting the product still stands, but I need it in my workshop.
